Job Description :
– Advanced level software development for Sonata RDA, Sonata Web and Sonata Web Services using Eclipse, Java1.5+/JEE 5+ and related services and Frameworks, Web technologies and frameworks such as JSF, Seam, HTML, CSS, Hibernate and Java-based web services and frameworks including JAX- WS and JMS
– Advising on client projects about appropriate technology and solutions, capturing and documenting technical requirements.
– Leading client implementations of Sonata, owning the integration (technical, web and NFR aspects).
– Involvement in scoping studies and providing solutions and technical consultancy services to clients.
– Providing consulting in performance planning and benchmark exercises.
– Working closely with Global Product Management and Development teams to provide technical consultancy input into the APAC/EMEA strategic and tactical product and technical plans.
– Advising project teams on technical issues where necessary.
– People management for direct reports including recruitment and selection, understanding the legal framework for managing employees, completing the annual performance review process, objective setting, learning and development and succession planning.
– Working with Business Analysts and Consultants to provide effort estimates for technical enhancement work, development and testing.
– Working with the Delivery Managers regarding the acceptance of new releases of Sonata software, being responsible for acceptance of that software for technical aspects of those releases.
– Creating and delivering internal and external technical training when required.
– 5-10 years of experience as a Technical / Integration Consultant in Financial Services industry.
– Strong analytical skills including knowledge of UML or other structured analysis method
– Proven experience of leading a feasibility/discovery phase with clients
– Experience of UK retail savings and investment products
– Experience of working within successful technology implementation programmes
– Experience in providing business consultancy and support to clients.
– Advanced software design principles and methods
– Broad experience within agile development practices
– Worked in software development environment with large teams
– Core Java 1.7 or above, Java Swing, Java Web Start, JEE 5 and above
– Java Frameworks and services including EJB 3.0, JAAS, JMS, JCA, JTA, JDBC, Java Web Services using
– SOAP, JAX-WS, JAXB, XML, JMS
– Web development using HTML, CSS, XML, XSL, JSP, JSF, Servlets.
– Supporting Open Source Java frameworks, utilities and applications XUL, Jasper reports, Apache FOP,
– Apache Log4J, Apache Commons, Log4J, Trove, EHCache, JGoodies, Swing Bindings.
– Object relational bridging using Hibernate, JDO and EJB 3.0.
– Java development using Eclipse Platform with related tools and plugins including Apache Ant, Subclipse, TestNG.
– Web & Application Servers including JBOSS and Tomcat.
– SQL, Entity-Relationship (ER) design and Relational Databases concepts
– Object oriented design and development methods and practices
– Code refactoring & use of design and code Patterns
